Important Notice to Visa Applicants - WARNING!

Do not allow any outside agency to alter your form or charge you additional expense for advice on completing your visa application form. Consulate personnel will review your form and circle any portion that is missing information. Any other people who approach you outside the Consulate DO NOT represent the Consulate. The paqueterias surrounding the Consulate DO NOT represent the Consulate and you use their services at your own risk.

  • A computer record of previous visa applications and detentions by U.S. border authorities or law enforcement officers is available to all consular officers at the time of your visa application and to all U.S. immigration officers. Attempts to conceal such records can lead to visa ineligibility and/or denial of admission to the United States.
  • Presenting false or altered documents, such as bank statements and work letters, or presenting someone else’s documents as your own, could result in a permanent denial of visas to yourself and possibly your family.

In order to maintain a visa process that is fair and equitable to all applicants, the Fraud Prevention Unit would like you to know the following facts:

  • The US Consulate has no agreement with any outside agency to assist applicants with the application process.
  • Visa appointment fees can only be processed through Banamex. Visa appointments can only be made via the website (www.usvisa-mexico.com) or via the telephone number listed on the website.

There is no fee for:

  • requesting a specific appointment date or time.
  • holding your place in line or allowing you into the line. Only persons applying for visas, or individuals accompanying children, elderly or handicapped applicants, are allowed in line and into the visa pavilion.

You can help keep our process fair and equitable to all people by reporting any violations to this policy that may happen to you personally, or that you may witness occurring to someone else. To report a violation please call 33-3268-2100 and ask for the Fraud Prevention Unit.
