Visas
Documentation
Have all your documentation ready before the visa interview.
You will need:
- A passport valid for at least 6 months after your interview date. Passports should have at least one blank page (without stamps) available to attach a visa. If your passport is still valid but has no available pages, you should obtain a new passport.
- Voting Card (IFE Card).
- All applicants are required to present the Non-Immigrant Visa Application (DS-156). Once filled out online, all three pages of the form need to be printed for submission to the Consulate General.
- Proof of payment of the $131 (U.S. Dollars) application fee. These fees are to be paid in Mexican Pesos at any BANAMEX Bank once an appointment has been made. For more information on visa fees, click on Visa Fees.
If available, old passports and visas.
If your old visa was stolen or lost you must present a police report.
Because visa issuance is not based on documentary evidence, the focus of an interview will not be documents. However, the Consular Officer may wish to see documentary evidence supporting your case. Supporting documentation must be in original and should support your visa application by detailing employment, reason for travel, and/or current financial status. In most cases, these documents should demonstrate that you have motives and intention to return to your country at the end of your visit.
