NOTE: Starting May 1, 2015, applicants who do not bring copies of their original documents will be required to pay a $1.00USD per page fee for copies made by Consulate staff.
Appointments - Passports
Adult passport renewals using form DS-82 do not require an appointment, and walk-ins are accepted between 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM Monday through Thursday. Other passport applicants must make an appointment and apply in person. Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 11:30 am.
The Consulate is closed on American and Mexican holidays. The ACS section also occasionally closes to the public for training and administrative work. For a complete list of closures, please click here.

The American Citizen Services Section requires that all passport applications be filled out electronically prior to arrival. We no longer accept hand-written passport applications. All passport applications can be filled out here.
Appointments - CRBAs
The American Citizen Services Section requires an appointment for all services relating to a Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA). See the Consular Reports of Birth Abroad webpage for full details on how to make an appointment.
In most cases, all original documents submitted by the applicant in support of the application will be returned to the applicant on the same day. We do, however, reserve the right to retain citizenship documents throughout the entire adjudication of the passport. Previous passports will generally be cancelled and returned to the applicant.
A messenger service will deliver the new passport to an address within Mexico as indicated on the application for a nominal charge.
Note: We cannot deliver passports to an address in the United States.
There is no expedited passport service in Mexico.
