Holiday Travelers
Should Schedule Visa Appointments Now
Travelers planning to visit the United States during winter holiday season should schedule an appointment prior to October 31 to ensure the delivery of the laser visa in time for their trip. The normal increase in demand may make it difficult to schedule an appointment around the holidays.
Applicants should always apply as early as possible in case their individual case requires extra processing.
Immediate appointments are now available in all visa categories. Over the past two months, the Consulate has expedited the visa application process for all applicants. First time applicants may now make appointments within a few days. For renewal customers, the Consulate has expanded the interview waiver program; applicants whose visas are current or have expired within the last four years can now apply to renew without an interview. The Consulate has also added work visa appointments on additional days to facilitate fast travel to seasonal work opportunities in the U.S.
First-Time Applicants
All applicants may currently schedule next-day appointments by calling 01-33-1454-5540; 01-33-4624-1978; or 01-44-9462-8591, or online at
http://usvisa-info.com/es-MX/selfservice/ss_country_welcome. Applicants who have previously scheduled appointments may reschedule to an earlier date by phone or online.
Renewals
The Consulate recently expanded eligibility for the interview waiver process to applicants renewing a full-validity visa in the categories BCC, BBBCV, B1/B2, C1/D, F, I, J, M, y O, if the visa is current or expired within the last four years. For other visa categories, applicants may renew without interview if the visa is current or expired within the last twelve months.
To qualify, applicants must also have a current passport, be applying in the same visa category as previously, and be in possession of the prior visa. Applicants must also have been at least seven years old when the prior visa was issued. If renewing a work or student visa, the application should be for the same company/institution. Applicants must be Mexican citizens or legal foreign residents of Mexico (with FM2 or FM3 cards).
Emergency Appointments
With immediate appointments now available, emergency appointments are currently being scheduled through the normal application process.
