Fire Engine Donation

U.S. Consul General Daniel F. Keller today participated in a ceremony to mark the donation of a fire engine from the City of South San Francisco, California, to the City of Atotonilco, Jalisco.  Representing South San Francisco was Fire Chief Philip D. White, who joined Ing. Francisco Godínez Arias, Mayor of Atotonilco for the ceremony.

Mr. Keller expressed his satisfaction in seeing such cooperation and goodwill between the people of Mexico and the people of the United States.  He observed that relations between Mexico and the U.S. are strong and dynamic, including a large commercial and cultural exchanges, as well as academic exchanges at all levels throughout the year.  The Consul General stated that today’s donation represented the best of people to people exchange between the two countries, and without government intervention.

The donation made by the City of South San Francisco to the City of Atotonilco is the result of a Sister Cities agreement.
