Arrival of Consul General Daniel F. Keller

The United States Consulate General is pleased to welcome the arrival of Daniel F. Keller as the new Consul General to Guadalajara.  Mr. Keller is a native of Minnesota and he graduated from Creighton University in 1970 with a degree in Sociology.  Prior to entering the Foreign Service in 1980, he taught English and he was an entrepreneur.  Mr. Keller is a career diplomat in the United States Foreign Service.

Mr. Keller’s first posting was as a vice consul in Monterrey, Mexico. He subsequently served in Naha, Japan; Taipei, Taiwan; Shanghai and Guangzhou, China; Washington DC; Moscow, Russia; Lagos, Nigeria; Manila, Philippines; Santiago, Chile; Caracas, Venezuela; and most recently as the Consul General in Madrid, Spain.

“It is a great honor to take this new position in Guadalajara and to be able to return to Mexico, the place where I began my career.  I feel very much at home.”

Mr. Keller is married to Mingchen Liao, and they have three grown children.

Mr. Keller succeeds Edward Ramatowski as Consul General, who returned to work at the State Department in July.
